Fostering a Culture of Creative Resistance...

After 2 sold out engagements at SF MOMA, Weimar New York returns to the West Coast as part of LA Art Weekend. Presented amidst the splendor of The Green Door, a Hollywood hot spot modeled on after a 1920's European chateau, it's Weimar New York like you've never seen it before! Performances happen in three connected rooms blurring the boundaries between audience and performer. Expect a raucous evening of entertainment that is sure to evoke the spirit of Weimar-era kabaret with a conspicuously contemporary bent.

Emcee Justin Bond (Kiki and Herb, Shortbus) presides over this three room circus of pointedly political performance and unbridled entertainment setting a tone of dark, ironic humor. Lance Horne musical directs, and the cast features a bevy of downtown New York's most outrageously talented performers including pioneering performance artist (and Warhol starlet) Penny Arcade, Whitney Biennial artist Julie Atlas Muz, satiric monologist and writer Mike Albo, GLAAD Media Award nominee Taylor Mac, German cabaret singer Daniel Isengart, gypsy chanteuse Sanda Weigl, multi-instrumentalist Novice Theory and Weimar New York's debauched answer to the Rockettes, The Pixie Harlots.
